DIRECT ANTERIOR HIP ARTHROPLASTY

Dr. Shirley is experienced in direct anterior total hip replacements for patients suffering from hip arthritis and other degenerative hip diseases. He is versed in both traditional and bikini incisions and believes the direct anterior approach provides a stable hip replacement, a quick recovery, and facilities computer and image guidance during surgery.

Not all patients will benefit from a direct anterior hip replacement. For those patients, Dr. Shirley has extensive training and experience with the traditional posterior approach and can employ robotic assistance when necessary.
