PROCEDURES
A Modern Approach to Hip and Knee Surgery
Matthew Shirley, M.D. is committed to delivering the most advanced and evidence-based techniques and technologies to his patients.

PARTIAL KNEE REPLACEMENT
A subset patients with knee arthritis only have cartilage loss in one of the three compartments of the knee.  These patients may benefit most from a partial knee replacement rather than a total knee replacement. These patients will benefit most from a total knee replacement if non-operative treatments have failed. Dr. Shirley is trained in the most advanced techniques and technologies in total knee arthroplasty, including robotic surgery

"In February this 75 year old women tripped and fell in a parking lot fracturing my left hip. Rushed to the trauma center at Mercy Hospital, through the luck of the draw, Dr Matthew Shirley was assigned to my case. He immediately put me at ease and assured me that everything would be fine. He did a full anterior hip replacement with a minimal incision. What impressed me the most was the manner in which he put me at ease, came to check me each day at the hospital. I never saw a PA. He personally saw me at every post surgical visit. He’s also easy on the eyes."
